Damn - scanning music all night long - and goddamn I forgot about all of the great tunes and artist I grew up with and idolized!
Maybe I'm just getting old but there really aren't that many powerhouse names out there anymore. The newer artists just don't have that extra something special - whatever it is.
I try to imagine myself at 50 - while I'm sure my taste in music will have veered more towards the softer side, but I know I will forever covet and hold dear to my heart my collection of Nine Inch Nails masterpieces. I may be listening to the softer side of Trent Reznor at that age. But you know that's just another great thing about his talent and music. He's got something to appease every musical taste I have...Is it possible to be in love with his music? YES - a resounding YES!
Tonight it's about the past...I need to revisit all the artists and songs that touched me growing up...
